Lactation Consultation

Lactation consultation is for those who are pre or post-partum and looking for an in-depth assessment of feeding techniques or difficulties with feeding their baby. These sessions are conducted by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Nurse. An IBCLC is an experienced professional who will complete a holistic assessment of you and your baby, listen to your experience and concerns, and create personalized care plans to address your families unique needs.

Common Reasons to See a Lactation Counsultant:​

  • First-time pregnancy and unsure about breastfeeding

  • Special circumstances during pregnancy (e.g. breast surgery, adoption)

  • Sore nipples, breast pain, or unresolved engorgement

  • Blocked ducts or mastitis

  • Oversupply or intense letdowns

  • Slow weight gain in the infant
